This feels like a very important thing to be doing and I am both excited and nervous. Excited because it is such an amazing opportunity to be with thousands of other people who share my concern for what is happening to our planet; nervous because the physical challenge of cycling over 40 miles a day most days is daunting and I do not want to let my group down.
I have been increasingly wanting to get more involved in direct action as I read about more and more bad news about what is happening all over the world - changes for the worst that are directly linked to climate change and to decisions made by people in power who either do not accept, or do not care about, what is happening.
I already align my own work in the field of Restorative Justice to Social Justice and work to ensure all voices are heard - especially those of young people in educational settings. Now I want to align this work to Climate Justice as well and if my skills can be used in this field then that would be great.
For now I just want to be on the ride and contribute where I can - I speak French so this may come in handy!
